Explanation of the Self

1. The listeners are requested not to unnecessarily feel sad or depressed. Bring the attention of your mind to the explanation and gain the realization of what is being said.
2. If realization and direct experience is on one side, and one runs to the other side, how can there be any discrimination between the Essence and non-essence?
3. When looking casually and superficially the whole creation appears as chaos to the eyes. However, there is always a state of powerful authority that is quite extraordinary.
4. All of the bodies that live in this world are the many houses of God. These bodies are the doorways through which many pleasures are enjoyed by God.
5. Who will understand his greatness? It is God himself who has distributed his benevolence through the loving feelings of mothers. It is God, the "Lord of the World," who is the protector of the world.
6. It is the power of God that is distributed everywhere in the world. The entire universe functions by only a fraction of his power.
7. It is his power that is the Primordial Awareness that has been distributed among all bodies. All skills and wisdom reside in this Awareness.
8. It is God that is Pure Being that is present in all bodies, and is present in the world. He functions through all bodies with great ease.
9. If the construction of the universe is examined, it is seen that everything cannot be done with only one body. It is the one God alone who does everything by residing in all bodies and making then function.
10. God does not consider any bodies to be superior or inferior, or good or bad. All that he is concerned with is that everything continues to function naturally.
11. Some bodies experience hindrance due to ignorance, and some are occupied with knowledge and self-study. Only God himself knows how all of this happens.
12. If we see the Self of the world with the inner attention of the mind, this is real meditation. This meditation and Self-Knowledge are one and the same.

14. The glory of Lord Rama is the fullness of the Knowledge of the Inner-Self. He is the Lord who permeates the universe and is present everywhere. Through great fortune, this comes to be understood.
15. If one seeks to worship God, that desire for worship is adopted. In this way, the desire to worship God as being separate gets prolonged, and the greatness of God is not comprehended.
16. Recognize God in his endless forms. He is the observer who sees, and he is the witness who is the knower.
17. Keep the company of good people and be in the habit of listening to the narrations and explanations about God. This brings peace and some repose to the mind.
18. In addition to that, knowledge based in experience burns up all speculation and guesswork. How can one gain contentment without experience?
19. The original volition, or desire, is the volition of God (Vishnu). All of the activity of the Primal Illusion seen as the form of the world is itself the Inner-Self of the world.
20. The worship of God is in the form of Knowledge (Jnana). The fourth body is this formless body of Knowledge. Therefore, all desire should be given up and left behind.
21. When desires are given up, afterwards, there is only the Absolute Reality, Parabrahman, which is vast and empty like space. It can be said to be dense and spread out everywhere, or delicate and soft, but what can really be said about it?
22. Worship and spiritual practice means Knowledge (Jnana). With Knowledge one realizes the pure untainted Reality. This is the contentment of the yogis.
23. When one constantly inquires into one's True Form, this is the worship of the Self by the Self. At the time of death, some go in Knowledge, and some remain holding attachment to the body.

26. Thus, there is power in all of the activity in the universe among those who exercise it. However, here it must be firmly established that everything is done only by the power and support of God.
27. It is true that it is only God who is the doer of everything, and he has distributed himself in the many forms that appear on earth. Therefore, one should not become affected by the madness of the pride of ego.
28. It is God who is the giver, and it is he who is the enjoyer. Like this, is the principle that is the functioning of everything. This should be seen now through investigation and thoughtfulness.
29. The Supreme God, Parameshwar, is the doer of all. The thought about oneself as being an individual is illusory. Whatever the level of one's understanding is, one will act accordingly in the world.
30. There is nothing that is as swift as God, and nothing is unmoving like Brahman. Proceeding step by step, one can see to the root.
