Meaning

Interest
The person would like to learn more if he/she turns towards the other.
I am interested in you and the conversation.
Disinterest
The person would like to leave or end the talk if he/she turns away.
I don't want to now.

Explanation

The body axes of people who are in dialogue are usually at an angle of to degrees. A lower the angle shows a more intimate exchange and shields others away from the conversation. An angle of degrees means either that the two speaking are very intimate with each other or a fight is coming up. The closer the angle comes to degrees the more others can participate in the conversation. Whoever chooses a narrower angle towards the other shows higher interest.
