Miração The ecstactic visionary state characteristic of the Santo Daime, wherein each person becomes protagonist of his or her shamanic flight. Padrinho called miração the state of overflowing superconsciousness guided by the Daime. The true self illuminates everything, using all of the conscious, the unconscious, dreams, and karmic material to articulate its message: the miração. Thus, the synthesis of true knowledge is woven from symbols and images of the collective human unconscious. It is as though God speaks directly to us through a living parable. That is why the character of the true self is at the same time crystalline and profound, bringing a richer understanding of our own life, of our brothers and sisters and of God.
The miração is the “third vision.” The understanding that we acquire in it inspires a deep commitment to transformation. Its effect, deeply therapeutic and consciousness-expanding, is due to the abolition of conditioning and illusions that impede authentic spiritual insight. Everything is important in this journey. Our perception increases and the inner voice speaks. The landscape is at once Cartesian and quantum. We may feel like the embodiment of a previous incarnation, or that we are living in a three-dimensional movie, or that we are a living monad of the Creator, an undetermined and leaping electron in the world where the Creator creates and re-creates his eternal and imperishable love.
