The Field of the Body

1. The tree of worldly life sown by Brahma has proliferated, and with its continuous growth, it has expanded extensively. Its growth came to rest and many living beings enjoy the fruits of this creation.
2. The tree of creation produced many juicy fruits and sweet things, and many bodies were created in order to enjoy the sweetness and to experience the many sense pleasures.
3. Many very nice objects were created, but without bodies there was no enjoyment of them. Therefore, as a solution to this, many bodies were created.
4. The various sense organs were created, each with their different qualities. They are all attached to one body, yet they are separated from each other.
5. When sound falls on the sense organ of hearing, it is able to differentiate sounds and words. This is the type of arrangement that has been created among the sense organs.
6. The sense organ of touch can feel hot and cold. With the sense organ of the eyes, all forms can be seen. It is like this that the capacity and the quality of the functioning of the various sense organs is differentiated.
7. With the sense organ of the tongue many tastes are experienced, and through the sense organ of the nose many smells are experienced. Like this, are the differences in quality and function of the sense organs.
8. The five aspects of the functioning of wind are interspersed throughout the body and circulate freely, and the five aspects of the inner-mind naturally observe the functioning of the sense organs and the organs of action.
9. Through the sense organs, living beings eagerly enjoy the many various sense objects. Such is the arrangement that God has created in the world.
10. Many nice objects have been created, but how can they be enjoyed without a body? For this reason, many types of bodies were created.
11. The body is made of bones and flesh, and it has many various qualities present in it. There is no other instrument or machine that is as refined as the body.
12. Like this, many bodies were created and were made to grow and develop according to their capacity to enjoy the various sense objects relating to the sense organs. Many small and large bodies have been created in this manner.
13. Many bodies made of bones and flesh were created by God with consideration to the capacity of each to discern the qualities of the sense objects.
14. The body is like a statue made of flesh and bones which has knowledge of many arts and skills. However, there are differences among all of the bodies found everywhere.
15. The differences in the bodies are based on cause and effect. There are many aspects to this which cannot be understood without a sharp intellect.
16. God has created everything, and it is because of the will of God that there are many differences found in his creation. However, if we look beyond appearances, there is no differentiation to be found.
17. Differentiation was necessary for creating the universe. Upon the destruction of the universe, there is no differentiation. The talk of differentiation and the absence of differentiation is only due to Illusion.
18. The Inner-Self is the Illusion, but its greatness cannot be understood. Even the creator, Lord Brahma, gets doubts about it.
19. When thinking about the intricacies of the Self there is much confusion that arises in the mind. Even when using very sharp common logic, the mind becomes exhausted trying to analyze it.
20. With regard to the Self, it is required to think and inquire into everything. However, with regard to the invisible Reality, thinking is of no use. In order to realize this, it is useful to spend time contemplating in solitude.
21. The Lord of the Universe gets everything done according to the capacity and power of the body. Those bodies which are filled with great power are called incarnations of God.
22. Various incarnations, such as those of the divine serpent Shesha, the great tortoise, and the great boar, have huge bodies that support the universe. Due to these incarnations, the structure of the universe continues to function.
23. See what a great and wondrous creation God has made. He made the sun that moves across the sky, and the cloud formations that hold huge amounts of water.
24. He has created clouds as huge as mountains that obscure the sun, and the wind that exists everywhere with its own swiftness.
25. Wind runs with such speed and force that it feels is as if it is the agent of death. It disperses the clouds allowing the sun to fully reappear.
26. God has created the lightening which strikes so hard that living beings suddenly feel frightened. It feels as if the sky is crashing down everywhere with a huge rumbling.
27. God has created one very marvelous thing in the world. This is that each element has some influence on each of the other elements. Thus all of the elements are equally balanced and because of this all of creation functions smoothly.
28. There are an endless number of differences in the Self. How can all of its differences be known? By careful analysis again and again, the mind gets ripped apart.
29. The worship of the Self is such that the worshipper should bring to mind the greatness and immensity of the Self which is not fully known to even Lord Brahma himself.
30. The invocation of the presence of God and the immersion into him is the sign of the worship of God. The knowledgeable and virtuous people know and understand this. What more can be said to them?
